Contains bills and receipts, primarily for work done on houses owned by Evans, tax and water bills, check stubs, and bank books. The bills relate to two houses, one on Coulter St. and another at 226 & 228 Stampers St. in Philadelphia. Such work as interior repairs, wood work, glazing, washing ceilings and walls, painting roofs and chimneys, laying a basement, soldering tin, covering a shed and privy with a tin roof, hanging wall paper, walling up a fire place, installing a new boiler, plumbing work, hanging drapes, and paving are mentioned. Costs of lumber, nails, sand paper, paint, wallpaper, bricks, sand, and cement are documented.
